Understanding Functional Labs Without the Overwhelm
What functional testing can and cannot tell you, and how to read your results as information rather than a verdict.

Functional lab work is best understood as a map, not a diagnosis. It shows patterns — how your body is handling stress, nutrients, blood sugar, and inflammation — and those patterns give us somewhere specific to start.
Before your results arrive, it helps to decide what you want to learn. Are you trying to understand fatigue? Digestive discomfort? A change in how you recover from ordinary days? Naming the question keeps a long report from feeling like a list of things wrong with you.
When we review results together, we look at ranges in context, group findings into themes, and translate each theme into one or two practical next steps. Nothing on a lab report is a verdict, and nothing here replaces the guidance of your licensed providers.
If a marker falls outside the expected range, we note it, discuss whether it belongs in a conversation with your physician, and keep your records organized so the next appointment starts from what is already known.
